You know who has really good ideas on how a vice president should behave? Sarah Freaking Palin, says absolutely nobody:
Sarah Palin said Tuesday that Vice President Joe Biden’s remark that Republicans “are going to put y’all back in chains” was “disgusting” — and added that it should make the Obama campaign seriously consider kicking him off the Democratic ticket.
The former GOP vice presidential candidate told Fox News’s Greta Van Susteren that Biden’s comment at a Tuesday rally in Danville, Va., should mark “the nail in the coffin” for the vice president.
Yep, they’re going with it. In a decade’s worth of attacks that have included countless accusations of treason, un-Americanism, Muslimishness, faking-your-war-injuries, and I’m just going to throw in here “death panels”, think you oh so much Sarah Palin for that one— no, now the cruel Joe Biden is clearly history’s greatest monster.
But even worse, I think, is watching the downward slide of John McCain from presidential nominee to Sunday talk-show chair warmer to concern troll and Sarah Palin afterthought:
John McCain said Wednesday he thinks “it might be wise” for President Barack Obama to replace Vice President Joe Biden on the ticket with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
“I think it might be wise to do that,” Sen. McCain (R-Ariz.) said on Fox News, responding to a suggestion that Sarah Palin made on Tuesday night. “But it’s not going to happen…If I were Hillary Clinton, I’m not sure I’d want to be on that team.”
I think most of America has long since come to the conclusion that Sen. John McCain is the worst judge of vice presidential material ever, and I was all but certain we had already passed a constitutional amendment specifically barring John McCain from ever publicly opining on vice presidencies ever again. I may have been dreaming it, however.
So now John McCain, Sarah Palin, Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney have all agreed that Vice President Joe Biden is just too darn mean, and not at all nice like they are, and we should all be outraged at how mean he is and how people like Mitt Romney would never result to such personal attacks, and people like Sarah Palin would never say controversial things to her supporters, and then we can all get together and have a good cry and all chip in a few bucks to send Mitt Romney a goddamn gift basket to help him get over his pain.
