LS travel retail China unveils winner of global campaign

Royal Caribbean International’s GRANDEUR OF THE SEAS embarking from the Port of Tampa, Florida on April 18, 2009. Includes photos of the port and video footage shot from Davis Islands of the ship as she departs into the Cut “D” Channel and then into Hillsborough Bay on her way to the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea. (Originally identified incorrectly as the Seddon Channel per Google Maps.) Seen from the Channelside Garage are the Tampa Port Authority’s Cruise Terminals 2 and 3, the TECO Electric Streetcar (Birney and Breezer cars), and the Florida Aquarium. Shots from Davis Islands also include views of the downtown Tampa skyline and the Sparkman Channel, the Davis Islands Yacht Basin, and video of the Tampa Police Department patrol boat escorting the 74000 gross ton, Vision Class ship out of the port. The GRANDEUR sails on to Cozumel, Mexico, Ocho Rios, Jamaica, Samana, Dominican Republic, and San Juan, Puerto Rico on a 7-night Trans-Caribbean repositioning cruise. The ship will make her return to Tampa in December 2009.

I love Tampa Bay because it is hard to brand for the big marketing companies. There are many large companies that showcase the features about our bay, but they failt to bright light to the best benefit of our Tampa Bay, and that is the people that live here. We have myriad communities living together in one area and we are definitely not your typical neighborhoods, don’t you think?! – Margarita

No, just my regular digital pocket camera, a Canon Powershot SD1100. It’s the only camera I’ve got.

I’m not sure how full she was but she definitely wasn’t empty. Sounds from a distance don’t register on my camera as well.. Might have been the way the wind was blowing or ship’s design, too, I suppose. Though it could be said that Carnival is the bawdier of the two cruise lines.

Wow very unusual horn but anyway how did you get such a good clear shot? What kind of camera did you use or was it a video camera?

Also when the carnaval ships passes on my video it sounded much livelyer. Was this ship sailing empty?

Cruised on the Grandeur this past July (2009) out of Baltimore. Awesome ship and great vacation. You can see my vacation video (if interested) on my channel (LouieMacanudo). Thanks for posting!

Grandeur OTS continues to sail out of Baltimore through November. In December, she repositions to Tampa, from which she has sailings scheduled through April, 2010. Then she moves to Fort Lauderdale.

  11. tellmyfather says:

dude on june i went on the grnduer of the seas how could it return on december???

  12. leggomyweavo says:

I was on that cruise it was wonderful.
But i heard that freedom of the seas is making an appearance on the west coast.
    cant wait.!

  13. TampaGS says:

Tampa will get her for five more months beginning in December. I can’t wait for Radiance of The Seas, which will call Tampa home beginning October 2010!

Enchantment OTS is a wonderful ship… a “stretch limo” version of Grandeur. I sailed Enchantment out of Ft. Lauderdale back in 2008.

  14. beckystar2000 says:

I bet you are glad you will have her back at your port! I’m sad she’s moving to Tampa, but we (Baltimore) are getting her sister ship, Enchantment of the Seas in 2010

  15. TampaGS says:

Audio content up to 0:44 is not my own. See the credits. It’s not really the Grandeur’s horn. But, yeah, the warble is kind of odd.

  16. RocketRodder says:

The horn has a vibrato. WTF???

  17. abjx7 says:

i was on that cruise :)
