Mr. Etch-A-Sketch, this weekend, falsely (and absurdly) accusing President Obama of having campaigned on a pledge to raise gas prices:
BRETT BAIER (FOX): Do you believe President Obama is to blame for high gas prices?
MITT ROMNEY: Well, there’s no question but that when he ran for office, he said he wanted to see gasoline price go up.
Mitt Romney, as governor in 2006, telling people to get used to high gas prices because they are here to stay:
“I’m very much in favor of people recognizing that these high gasoline prices are probably here to stay.”
If only the price of gas were as easy to change as Mitt Romney’s opinion.
(By the way, he was right. And according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, gas prices peaked at just over $ 3 per gallon in 2006.)
