Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine flip-flops support from Mitt Romney to Rick Santorum

Santorum and Romney

Mitt Romney his finally met a flip-flop he doesn’t like

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine has flipped from Mitt Romney to Rick Santorum:

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine will endorse Rick Santorum this afternoon, Ohio Republicans confirm.

DeWine, a Romney endorser, will announce his decision to change endorsements in remarks at the Ohio State House in Columbus, OH. Santorum is currently leading Romney in the state, 42 percent to 24 percent in the latest Rasmussen poll.

DeWine and Santorum were both clobbered in their 2006 reelection bids, Santorum to Bob Casey and DeWine to Sherrod Brown.

Mitt Romney’s campaign is trying to spin some bull about how DeWine was upset that Romney attacked Santorum for something that DeWine had previously supported. I’d bet my bottom dollar, however, that the real reason is Mike DeWine thinks Rick Santorum will beat Romney in Ohio.

10:24 AM PT: Apparently, Romney’s camp was blindsided by DeWine’s move, so their rationale for DeWine’s switch was utter bunk.
